
of Performance at Music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Lisa headed to Europe, where she received a BMus at the University of Arts in Graz. After winning an Erasmus scholarship, she specialised in the natural horn and early music at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, Holland.
Lisa has performed with several of Europe's leading orchestras, including the Vienna Symphony, the Vienna Radio Symphony, Concertverein Orchestra, the Amsterdam Radio Chamber Orchestra, the Hungarian State Opera and Camerata Athens, as well as with the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, Adelaide and Sydney Symphony Orchestras. In 2008 she was appointed horn player with the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra. She was also a founding member of Ensemble Zeitfluss, an Austrian contemporary music ensemble. Relocating to Australia in 2010, she currently teaches brass at the New England Conservatorium of Music, as well as at Bellingen High and Bishop Druitt College.
Accord Pour Deux was formed in Graz, whilst performing the Austrian premiere of Gerard Grisey's Accords Perdus for two solo horns. Accord Pour Deux specializes in the extreme poles of the horn repertoire - from early music, performed on baroque and classical natural horns to the contemporary.
Gergely Mályusz matriculated from the Kodály music high school in Debrecen, Hungary, with distinction, after which he moved to Graz, Austria, to study French horn at the University of Arts. Here he completed a Master of Performance with distinction and received an award of excellence from the Austrian Ministry of Culture and Education.
Gergely has played with orchestras such as the Vienna Symphony, the Radio Symphony Orchestra, Klangforum Wien, Amsterdam Opera, Budapest National Opera Orchestra and the Orchestra of Les-Musicians-de-Louvre. He was a long term member of Brass Company brass quintet and Sans Frontiéres wind quintet. In 2008 Gergely was appointed principal horn with the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra. Gergely has had a number of new solo horn compositions dedicated to him. He is currently teacher of brass at the New England Conservatorium of Music, and teaches in Bellingen and Coffs Harbour.
Lisa Mályusz's first encounters with the tenor horn at age eight were in the rich tradition of brass band playing in England. After emigrating to Adelaide she took up the French horn and was accepted into the special music program at Brighton High School. Following the completion of a Diploma
