Coming from Coffs Harbour, Urunga or Nambucca but don't want to drive?
If you are coming in a group, it can be worthwhile to arrange transport with the Xcede shuttle bus, which will pick you up from a nominated spot, such as the Coffs Harbour coach station, and return you there after your last concert. Coming by road
From the West
Travelling to Bellingen from Armidale by road takes about two and a half hours. Take Waterfall Way (the Grafton Road) eastwards out of Armidale and follow it right through, turning right at the Ebor T-junction, then right again at the Grafton Road. If you have time, take a break at Wollomombi Falls picnic area for a magnificent short walk with spectacular views of one of the highest waterfalls in Australia. At Dorrigo, you can also find excellent coffee shops for a break.
From the South
Travelling to Bellingen from Sydney takes about seven hours and from Newcastle about four. Travelling on Pacific Highway, turn left onto Waterfall Way soon after Urunga, once you have crossed the bridge over the Bellinger river. Follow this road through to Belllingen.
From the North
Bellingen is about five hours from Brisbane via the Pacific Highway or a little longer via the scenic route, through Kyogle. Coming from the North, drive southwards through Coffs Harbour on Pacific Highway for about 20 minutes and then take the Waterfall Way exit to Bellingen, crossing the overpass as you leave the highway. Bellingen is another 20 minutes.
Coming by air
The nearest airport is at Coffs Harbour, half an hour away by road. Services are provided by QantasLink and Virgin Blue. You can hire a car there or book the Xcede airport shuttle bus to bring you into Bellingen. This will be much cheaper than coming by taxi but it is best to book in advance. Coming by train
The nearest railway station is at Urunga, but there are no hire cars there and few buses are available so you will need to have made arrangements to get from the station. You can arrange in advance to be collected from the station by the Xcede shuttle bus. Book online or phone 02 6654 4476. Some accommodation providers will arrange transport from here or Bellingen's taxi service can be contacted on 02 6658 8881 or 131 008. Coming by bus
There are several long-distance bus services coming past Bellingen, stopping on the Pacific Highway in and near Urunga. For information about long-distance bus services, contact Premier Motor Service or Greyhound Buses. You would need to arrange transport from the bus stop to Bellingen, about 20 minutes' drive away.
